What are Dry Eyes?
Dry eye produces discomfort and reduces vision when the tear film becomes chronically table or unavailable thereby leading to dryness of the conjunctiva and cornea.
Causes of Dry Eyes
1. Deficiency of tears.
2. Deficiency of conjunctival mucous.
3. Irregularities of the cornea due to past disease.
4. Eyelid paralysis.
Clinical Features of Dry Eyes
1. Gritty feeling in the eye.
2. Irritation and redness.
3. Recurrent infections.
Management of Dry Eyes
1. Use of artificial tears e.g. Moisol eye drops, Aqua tears etc.
