What is Atrial Flutter?

We can say Atrial flutter is a type of abnormal heart rhythm that occurs when the upper heart chambers start beating too fast, due to which the bottom chambers have to beat faster than normal. The heart rate is 250-350 minutes.

Causes of Atrial flutter:

Rheumatic heart disease, coronary artery disease, and thyrotoxicosis.

Clinical Features of Atrial flutter:

Palpitation, breathlessness, syncope.

Management of Atrial flutter:

Emergency medical treatment in a hospital.
