Diabetes – Diabetes is one of the most common metabolic diseases in developing and developed countries. Diabetes is a condition where insulin production from the pancreas gland is no longer sufficient or available for the metabolism of sugar and carbohydrates. This results in a rise of blood sugar levels well beyond the normal and thus diabetes (hyperglycemia).
Goitre – Goitre is the swelling of the thyroid gland, which is common in areas where there is a lack
of iodine in the diet, although other causes too are present.
Thyrotoxicosis – Thyrotoxicosis condition demonstrates hyperactivity of the thyroid gland resulting in the excessive supply of thyroxine hormone.
Addison’s Disease – Addison’s Disease is primarily a deficiency of hormones produced by the adrenal glands. There is increased excretion of salt.
Pheochromocytoma – Pheochromocytoma is a tumour of the adrenal gland. The tumour is generally a benign one. These tumours produce an excess of hormones like adrenaline. They are very vascular.
